Encouragement

I am encouraged when I go to the library after school and spend a few hours getting work done. I am encouraged when my family and I spend time together. I am encouraged when my friends and I involve ourselves in deep conversations. I am encouraged by this life, and all the breaths I am able to take, all the familiar faces I am able to greet. I am encouraged by the appreciation of an argument. I am encouraged by comedic films, I am encouraged by the eyes of a dog that stares at you with love. 


I am discouraged by hostility. I am discouraged by the doubting of my intelligence. I am discouraged by money taking over people's lives. I am discouraged by distant love, unseen love. I am discouraged by broken promises.
