The tape heard round the world poured leverage into the ears of the left And still didn't convince all of the right. It spun its assault into little girls and boys Watching the morning news with mommy and daddy. Flowing out of his mouth and into the ears Of the world, From Concord to Bangkok. The tape heard round the world carried its Unapologetic rhetoric, Igniting open mouths of speechlessness, Conveying images of sexual disgust. But the tape heard round the world Replayed a known film to many. For every 109 seconds, One American is sexually assaulted, They go home with a bruise, And a nightmare. Some days following of good, Some of bad. They're given this same unwanted tape, That their memory forces them to replay, Again, and again. They're reminded of him As he grabbed her by the pussy, They won't report the crime because Men will be men, And the tape was so long ago, Who really cares about the past? Except for the percentage That carry it, Unwillingly.
